The Lansbury Heritage Hotel, a 37 room boutique luxury Hotel located just a short walk from London’s iconic Canary Wharf and with fast transport links to all of the capital’s main attractions. Business and tourist guests arrive to an oasis of calm created in a beautifully restored historic Grade II listed building that combines modern style and luxury with a sense of place and distinguished grandeur. Surrounded by leafy churchyards and Grade I listed buildings, this landmark heritage Hotel has a rich and fascinating history – from the East India Company building its first chapel and almshouses on the site in 1628 to the famous Labour politicians standing up for the poor of East London in the 1890s.
With its landmark octagonal domed tower, the Hotel is the centre point of this highly protected conservation area – surprisingly in its proximity to Canary Wharf – and provides a welcome retreat from the constant rush hour of international business on its doorstep.
The Lansbury Heritage Hotel decided that they wished to have a fully integrated intelligent door access and room controls system, and so selected VDA’s Micromaster solution. One of their objectives was to offer their guest an enhanced experience in areas such as better service provision, with elements such as ‘Do Not Disturb’, and ‘Make up Room’, and all linked to the Hotel’s PMS system.
The Hotel also wished to micro manage the energy within the guest rooms, whilst at the same time providing the guest with a comfortable temperature in the room. The solution here is fully interfaced with the Daikin air conditioning system. The lighting in the guest rooms is again controlled by VDA, thus offering fully managed scenarios.
The Hotel now has a solution that offers real-time information in such areas as who is in the room, what is the temperature, does the guest wish to have the room made up or not to be disturbed etc. All this information is available on a number of devices available to the Hotel staff and management, resulting in them being able to make more enlightened and economic decisions.
All the door access and room controls are in a Vitrum glass finish, and incorporate the door numbers as well.
The Hotel also selected VDA’s Power TV ONAIR system that provides the guest with a range of national and international TV channels through HD menus. One of the bonuses of the Interactive TV solution is that it is fully integrated with the room control system so that all the functions within the room can also be controlled through the TV.
Finally, the Hotel also selected VDA’s high speed internet service.
