Martis Palace is a luxurious 4-star Hotel located in the heart of Rome, occupying the ancient area of Campo Marzio behind Piazza Navona. In the 16th century, a Roman statue dating back to the II century AD, depicting the god Mars, was discovered in the area adjacent to the square, hence the name Hotel Martis Palace, the Palace of the god Mars.
The VDA system has supported Martis Palace in the installation of the Guest Room Management System, Micromaster, and the Interactive TV systems, PowerTV ONAIR and VDA Casting.
The Micromaster system allows the management of the air conditioning and the lighting, enabling energy saving when the guest is not in the room. The presence sensor allows the detection of any presence in the room and regulates the temperature according to the set point and the season.
The automation system installed at the Hotel has Vitrum and Classic aesthetics integrating perfectly with the design of the rooms, as well as with the series chosen for the rest of the controls.
With Vitrum it is possible to manage the room access, lights, and curtains. One of the controls is dedicated to the ‘master OFF’ button which allows all the lights to be easily switched off with a single touch. The icons are backlit but does not interrupt sleep as they are active only when the proximity sensor senses movement.
To complete the installation of the GRMS systems, VDA’s Interactive TV solutions were installed to ensure guests get the best services and entertainment.
With the PowerTV ONAIR system, the guest is welcomed into rooms with a personalized graphical interface full of Hotel and city information. With IPTV, you can access satellite and digital terrestrial channels that are distributed via Ethernet cable, avoiding coaxial distribution. This type of technology allows the control of the channels according to the customer’s preferred language and program. Furthermore, the interfacing with the hotel PMS makes data transfer operations at check-in and check-out automatic.
The Wi-Fi coverage works through the access point integrated into the ONAIR Set Back Box. Every hotel guest has a personal “Wi-Fi Bubble” which allows the connection of personal devices to the internet without sharing the connection with the other guests.
The VDA Casting in-room entertainment system is the latest Interactive TV solution by VDA Group to enable guests to watch their favorite programs even while staying at the Hotel. By framing the QR code that appears on the TV display with a smartphone, the guest can easily access their personal accounts of popular online streaming content platforms.
In this way, the guest can choose whether to continue their favorite series on Netflix, watch a movie on Prime Video, or choose a cartoon on Disney+… All home entertainment becomes part of the Hotel experience.
