Palazzo Portinari Salviati

The five-star Palazzo Portinari Salviati in Florence is an enchanting Renaissance residence. With 13 luxury suites adorned with enchanting sixteenth-and eighteenth-century frescoes and incredible views over Piazza del Duomo, the heart of the city, it represents an exclusive destination.

Built in the 15th century by the Portinari family, heirs of the family that gave birth to Beatrice, the immortal muse of the great poet Dante Alighieri, the palace has hosted some of the most famous personalities of Italian history and culture, such as Cosimo I De Medici, Grand Duke of Tuscany. Today, Palazzo Portinari Salviati presents itself as a hotel of excellence for guests who want a top-quality experience.

Each suite in Palazzo Portinari Salviati is managed by Micromaster, VDA’s distributed intelligence Room Management system capable of integrating effectively with the hotel’s PMS software, allowing the hotelier and staff to manage the lighting, climate and underfloor heating in each room.

Thanks to this solution and the possibility of setting the ‘Energy saving’ mode when the room is not occupied, the hotelier can easily optimize the management costs and consumption of the structure.

Upon guest check-in, the Micromaster system is automatically activated and creates a comfortable environment to welcome the customers into their suite. During their stay, guests can adjust the system’s functions and set their own preferences for temperature and lighting levels using the Vitrum smart switches on the wall. The high-quality Italian-designed black glass push-button panels have intuitive iconography, and the guest can comfortably reach them even on the sides of the bed.

In addition to the Room Management system, VDA also supplied Palazzo Portinari Salviati with Interactive TV solutions.

Through the ONAIR PowerTV system, the hotel can communicate with the guest and promote its services directly on the TV in each room, or via the customers’ mobile devices. This solution allows you to inform guests in real time about the activities scheduled in the hotel, the attractions to see in the city, or recommend the best restaurants or music to listen to.

The system is based on a cloud platform and allows centralized management of software and firmware updates, while the installation of a local server guarantees service continuity even in the absence of connectivity. Thanks to this installation, the hotel can use the service autonomously, managing its own information and multimedia contents.

Finally, the VDA Casting service allows guests to easily access their personal accounts on Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video and many other platforms to have their online streaming content directly on the TV in the suite. Thanks to this innovative solution, the customer can bring their favorite entertainment into the hotel experience, simply by scanning the QR code that appears on the TV display in the room.
